Sonata Software's US Bankruptcy Petition Dismissed; Debtors Execute General Assignment

Sonata Software Limited has provided an update regarding ongoing legal proceedings involving its affiliated entities in the United States. The filing detailed that an Involuntary Petition filed by Sonata Software North America, Inc (SSNA) against OBSA Operating Company, LLC (OBSA) under Chapter 7 of the United States Bankruptcy Code was dismissed by the Court.

The dismissal followed OBSA's failure to comply with Rule 1007(a)(2) of the United States Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. Following the court decision, a new operational step has been taken by OBSA.

OBSA executed a separate general assignment for the benefit of its creditors (ABC) under California law. This out-of-court assignment is intended as an alternative means to conclude the affairs of the insolvent debtor rather than proceeding with Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

The update covers developments related to legal proceedings involving affiliated entities, with no mention of settlement in any case of litigation or settlements related to financial impact on the listed entity.
