New Delhi, March 21: Raymond Group Managing Director Gautam Singhania is recovering well after sustaining minor injuries in a speedboat accident near Fulidhoo in the Maldives, his team confirmed on Saturday.

Providing a health update, his team stated that he is doing well at present.

Speedboat Carrying Seven Passengers Capsizes Near Fulidhoo​

The incident occurred on Friday when a speedboat carrying seven individuals capsized. The passengers included five Indians, along with one British and one Russian national.

According to a statement from Singhania’s spokesperson, he suffered minor injuries in the accident and is currently recovering under proper medical care in Mumbai. The statement also expressed gratitude for the support and wishes received, while extending concern for others affected in the incident.

Search Operation Underway for Missing Individuals​

Two individuals, believed to be Indian nationals, remain missing following the accident. A search operation is currently in progress.

The Maldives National Defence Force confirmed that its Male Area Command Coast Guard Second Squadron is conducting search efforts. The incident took place approximately two nautical miles southwest of Keyodhoo, as per local reports.
