Shree Refrigerations Limited to Launch Advanced Facility to Boost Defence HVAC&R Capabilities

Shree Refrigerations Limited (SRL), a prominent Indian manufacturer of advanced refrigeration and HVAC systems focusing on the defence sector, is set to launch a new manufacturing facility in Karad, Satara district, Maharashtra. The inauguration of the state-of-the-art unit is scheduled for June 20, 2026.

The new facility represents a significant expansion of SRL’s manufacturing footprint, adding 50,000 square feet to the company’s operations. Developed across 6 acres, the unit is equipped with advanced machinery and complete backward integration capabilities. It features specialized installations including robotic welding, laser cutting, bending, a paint shop, and a modern shot blast area. Notably, the facility adheres to Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) standards and was designed with provision for an additional 50,000 square feet of future expansion.

With 35 years of experience in the refrigeration industry, SRL expanded its focus to the defence sector less than a decade ago. The company aims to leverage this expansion to strengthen its role as a key partner for critical defence applications.

Ravalnath Gopinath Shende, Chairman and Managing Director of Shree Refrigerations Ltd., stated that the new facility will enhance SRL's capability to design, manufacture, test, and integrate specialized cooling solutions for highly demanding applications. He emphasized that the unit reinforces the company's commitment to indigenous design and manufacturing, providing long term lifecycle support for critical infrastructure and defence applications.

In the initial phase, the company will focus on improving overall efficiency and strengthening the supply chain, with a goal to reduce dependency on the Pune-based supply ecosystem. By increasing backward integration and setting up machinery to manufacture components in-house at the new plant, SRL aims to improve manufacturing time and reduce logistical delays.

Strong Operational and Financial Performance

The company reported strong operational and financial performance during H2FY26 and FY26. Revenue saw significant growth, increasing by over 100% on both a Year over Year (YoY) and Half over Half (HoH) basis in H2FY26. Additionally, revenues grew by over 50% on a YoY basis in FY26. This robust growth was supported by improved execution capabilities, higher project completion rates, and operating leverage benefits.

SRL maintains a unique position in the industry, being the only Indian company with naval registrations across all three key segments: Chillers & Refrigeration Plants, Turnkey HVAC&R Solutions, and Electrical Control Panels. Its comprehensive portfolio also includes Electrical Control Panels for defence platforms and Heavy Fabrication Services required by large-scale defence manufacturing.

Shree Refrigerations Limited (SRL) specializes in airconditioning, refrigeration, and turnkey HVAC solutions for Defence and Industrial applications. The company offers world-class indigenous solutions for India's most critical sectors, built with a focus on performance, reliability, and resilience.
