Shilpa Medicare Appoints Dr. Uday N. Harle as CEO of Wholly Owned Subsidiary Shilpa Biologicals Private Limited​

Shilpa Medicare Limited has appointed Dr. Uday N. Harle as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its wholly owned subsidiary, Shilpa Biologicals Private Limited. The appointment is effective from August 3, 2026.

Dr. Harle joins the leadership team bringing approximately 24 years of experience across the global biopharmaceutical industry. His expertise spans biologics and biosimilars, where he has accumulated over 18 years of experience. Furthermore, he possesses more than 14 years of experience in key leadership roles encompassing research and development, clinical development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, commercialization, and business management.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Harle held senior positions including Chief Business Officer at Artemis Medicare Services Limited and Premedium Pharma (Apollo Group). His previous career trajectory includes serving as Assistant Vice President & Global Head - Clinical Development at Amneal Group / Kashiv Biosciences. He also held the role of Global Head - Clinical Development at Abbott and Associate Director & R&D Head at Ferring Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Harle has also gained experience with Bharat Serums & Vaccines and other leading pharmaceutical organizations.

Dr. Harle’s extensive expertise covers critical areas of the biologics value chain, including portfolio strategy, research and development (R&D), Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC), clinical development, regulatory approvals, manufacturing, commercialization, CDMO partnerships, and P&L management. His specialization includes biosimilars, novel biologics, peptides, recombinant proteins, cell therapies such as CAR-T, and medical devices.

A significant aspect of his qualifications is his global regulatory experience. Dr. Harle has worked extensively with international regulatory agencies including the USFDA, EMA, MHRA, Health Canada, and CDSCO.

In terms of contributions to the industry, he has played a role in developing over 10 biosimilars and more than 5 novel biologics, which include multiple IND and BLA submissions. Dr. Harle is also an accomplished author, having authored approximately 40 scientific publications, published 2 books, and holds 2 patents.
