Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd executed a Forest Lease Agreement (FLA) on April 8, 2026. The agreement was executed with the Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF), Government of Karnataka, Ballari Division, Ballari, and was subsequently registered with the Sub-Registrar Office at Sandur.The FLA details the establishment of a Downhill Conveyor Pipe System (DCS) for the company. This agreement incorporates all conditions mentioned in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change's approval letter dated October 3, 2025.
The lease covers the diversion of 2.4314 hectares of forest land located in Deogiri, Swamimalai Forest Block, Sandur Taluk, Ballari District, Karnataka. This land is designated for establishing the DCS connecting the Kammathuru Iron Ore Mine (ML No. 2678, Old No. 2580/1179) to the PMBR (BMM) siding in favour of the company.
