Additionally, approximately 1 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders were sold across the country on that same day.This figure marks a notable increase when compared to the daily average of 77,000 recorded during February 2026.
Support for Migrant Workers and Vulnerable Groups
The government has also emphasized support for vulnerable populations. Since March 23, 2026, over 12 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have been dispensed. These cylinders were specifically targeted for students and migrant labourers.The 5-kg FTL cylinders are slated for use by state governments, ensuring supply only to migrant labourers within their respective states, assisted by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

The Petroleum Ministry issued a firm advisory to the public regarding fuel usage. Citizens are strongly cautioned against panic purchases of petrol, diesel, or LPG.
