Indian Oil Corporation has intensified its enforcement drive across the nation. The PSU giant announced rigorous measures taken to safeguard the fair distribution of essential fuels. Authorities conducted over 10,600 inspections and have initiated swift punitive action against defaulters.

Nationwide Raids Target Illegal Distribution Networks

In a significant coordinated effort, IndianOil revealed that over 1.2 lakh raids have been conducted nationwide. These actions, carried out in partnership with state governments, span across the entire fuel industry. Authorities have registered more than 990 FIRs in these anti-diversion operations.

The core focus remains on ensuring seamless and equitable access to LPG for all genuine consumers. Indane distributorships are stated to remain under continuous surveillance to maintain high service standards.

Prioritizing Domestic Consumers Amid Supply Surge

IndianOil has clearly stated its priority: safeguarding LPG supplies for domestic consumers. The goal is to ensure transparency, efficiency, and uninterrupted distribution across the country.

Stringent monitoring and enforcement measures are actively in place to curb black marketing, hoarding, and the diversion of subsidized fuels.

Record LPG Deliveries and Cylinder Sales Figures

The data indicates a substantial uptick in fuel accessibility. On April 10, more than 51.5 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were successfully delivered to consumers. Additionally, approximately 1 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders were sold across the country on that same day.

This figure marks a notable increase when compared to the daily average of 77,000 recorded during February 2026.

Support for Migrant Workers and Vulnerable Groups

The government has also emphasized support for vulnerable populations. Since March 23, 2026, over 12 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have been dispensed. These cylinders were specifically targeted for students and migrant labourers.

The 5-kg FTL cylinders are slated for use by state governments, ensuring supply only to migrant labourers within their respective states, assisted by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

Public Advisory: Conserve Energy and Use Official Channels

The Petroleum Ministry issued a firm advisory to the public regarding fuel usage. Citizens are strongly cautioned against panic purchases of petrol, diesel, or LPG. Reliance should only be placed on official information sources.

LPG consumers are advised to utilize digital booking platforms and refrain from physically visiting distributors. The ministry also urges the public to conserve energy in their daily routines and explore alternate fuels.

Alternative Cooking Solutions Promoted

To ease the pressure on traditional fuels, citizens are encouraged to adopt alternative energy sources. This includes utilizing PNG (Piped Natural Gas) and electric or induction cooktops in households.
