RBI Returns Application on Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's Universal Bank Transition​

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd. has received communication from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regarding its application for a Voluntary Transition from a Small Finance Bank to a Universal Bank.

The RBI's letter, dated April 13, 2026, acknowledged the bank's recent efforts to diversify its loan portfolio. However, the regulator indicated that there was still scope for improvement and progress in this area.

Consequently, the RBI returned the application and advised Ujjivan Small Finance Bank to consider submitting a revised application after demonstrating a more diversified loan portfolio.
