The Ramco Cements Limited has provided an update regarding its ongoing material litigations, specifically concerning the levy of Excise Duty on bagged cement.The company announced that the matter pending before the Original Authority, which related to the disputed levy of Excise Duty based on the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for bagged cement, has been dropped. The disputed amount in this specific case was Rs. 66.65 crores.
According to the company, the resolution came via an Order dated May 15, 2026. Ramco Cements received the order through email on May 18, 2026.
The update further noted that while this major dispute has been resolved, similar disputes with statutory authorities remain pending. These pending matters currently stand at Rs. 1.60 crores.
