ACME Solar Expands BESS Capacity with 155 MW Commissioning in Rajasthan
Total Battery Storage Capacity Reaches 297.67 MW Across SPVs
New Delhi, March 24: ACME Solar Holdings on Tuesday announced the commissioning of an additional 155 MW and 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System capacity through its subsidiaries, marking a significant expansion in its energy storage portfolio.Following this development, the company’s total commissioned BESS capacity has increased to 297.67 MW and 951.74 MWh. This forms part of its broader plan to establish 835 MW and 3,114.64 MWh of BESS capacity across its special purpose vehicles.
Rajasthan Projects to Operate on Merchant Basis
The newly commissioned BESS facilities are located in Rajasthan and are connected to the operational Inter-State Transmission System. These projects will function on a merchant basis, enabling the company to generate additional revenue by leveraging the price differential between peak and off-peak electricity demand periods.Focus on Grid Stability and Efficient Power Utilization
The storage systems are designed to improve grid reliability and optimize energy usage. They achieve this by charging batteries during periods of low demand and discharging power during peak demand hours. This operational mechanism supports effective balancing of energy supply and demand, while contributing to overall grid stability.
Diversified Renewable Portfolio and Ongoing Capacity Expansion
ACME Solar Holdings operates as an integrated renewable energy player with a diversified portfolio of 8,071 MW spanning solar, wind, storage, FDRE, and hybrid solutions. The company currently has an operational contracted capacity of 2,978 MW along with 1.0 GWh of BESS capacity. In addition, it is developing an under-construction contracted capacity of 5,093 MW, which includes 16 GWh of battery energy storage installations.
