Orkla India Limited, a portfolio company of Orkla ASA, has announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹659 crore for Q1 FY27, marking double-digit growth of 10.4% year-on-year (YoY). This growth was driven by broad momentum across categories, channels, and geographies.

Revenue from the sale of products grew 11.5% YoY, supported by a volume increase of 1.7%.

EBITDA for the quarter reached ₹115 crore, reflecting a 3.0% rise year-on-year (or 7.2% excluding the impact of lower Production Linked Incentive benefits), achieving an EBITDA margin of 17.5%. PAT before exceptional items (net of tax) grew by 9.7% YoY to ₹87 crore, corresponding to a margin of 13.1%, aided by improved operating leverage and higher other income.

Key Operational and Business Highlights​

The company noted strong performance across various business segments:

  • Category Growth: Spices grew by 11.3%, reaching ₹436 crore, while Convenience Foods saw growth of 11.9%, generating ₹220 crore.
  • Channel Dynamics: Modern Trade grew significantly at 18.6%. The digital commerce channel delivered strong momentum with a 38.1% growth rate, contributing 8.9% of domestic revenue compared to 7.2% in Q1 FY26.
  • Domestic and International Markets: Domestic business expanded by 11.8%, while international business grew by 10.1%, led particularly by the GCC market which grew by 18.1%.
  • Innovation and Expansion: Orkla India announced 23 new product launches across its categories.

In Convenience Foods, the focus is on scaling breakfast opportunities. This includes expanding the dry batter portfolio in top metros, introducing MTR Minute Fresh Wet Batter to new markets, and launching a protein-led breakfast range targeting Gen Z.

Project Bolt is accelerating digital commerce capabilities by enhancing digital-first innovation and online execution. The regional distribution restructuring in Kerala is progressing as planned, yielding encouraging early results.

In the Spices segment, innovations include expanding regional offerings such as MTR North Karnataka Podis and Andhra Podis. Premiumization efforts are being strengthened with products like MTR Prakriti Hing-e-Kandahar and Eastern Royal Kashmiri Chilli Powder. Internationally, the reformulated non-dairy MTR Minute Meals paneer range is laying the groundwork for entry into UK and European markets.

Commenting on the results, Sanjay Sharma, Managing Director & CEO of Orkla India, stated that FY27 has commenced robustly, with 11.5% revenue growth driven by consistent momentum across categories, channels, and geographies. He emphasized that the performance reflected the strength of the portfolio and the trust in their brands within a dynamic market environment.

Looking ahead, Sharma noted that the company is committed to unlocking multiple growth engines. Priorities include deepening leadership in core markets, building a pan-India presence through the Convenience Foods portfolio, and strengthening channel capabilities, especially in Digital Commerce and Kerala. These focus areas are intended to deliver sustainable and profitable long term growth.
