Om Infra Surges 5 Percent After Securing ₹569 Crore Chhattisgarh Irrigation Project Contract

In a significant display of business momentum, Om Infra saw its share price jump by over 5 percent in early trade on July 28th. This surge comes after the company was declared the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a major irrigation project worth nearly ₹570 crore in Chhattisgarh. The contract win underscores the growing order book and execution capability of Om Infra in the infrastructure sector.

The stock traded at Rs 91.40 as of 10:04 am on the BSE, marking an increase of Rs 4.40 or 5.06 percent. This positive market reaction follows recent contract awards that bolster the company's financial stability and future pipeline.

Major Contract Win in Chhattisgarh State

The project awarded by the Water Resources Department (WRD) involves a substantial undertaking: the construction of the Mohmela Sirpur Barrage Project on the Mahanadi River. The scope of work is comprehensive, covering not only the barrage but also a pipe irrigation network. Furthermore, Om Infra is contracted for five years of operation and maintenance in Raipur district under this deal.

The contract value stands at ₹568.98 crore, confirming the company's crucial role in key state water infrastructure development. Securing such large-scale projects highlights the company's proven capability to handle complex engineering challenges.

Previous Turnkey Contract Awarded in Rajasthan

Om Infra has also been instrumental in strengthening its project portfolio with a previous win. On July 17th, the company secured an EPC turnkey contract valued at ₹482.27 crore from the Water Resource Department (WRD) in Rajasthan. This project involves the development of a pressurised irrigation network and dam construction under the Andheri Medium Irrigation Project in Baran district.

This sequence of successful L1 bids across two states demonstrates Om Infra's expanding footprint in critical regional infrastructure projects, affirming its status as an integral player in India's water management initiatives.
