NTPC Limited, the power generation company, issued a clarification regarding media reports about establishing nuclear power units in Bihar. The company addressed speculation surrounding a news article titled 'NTPC exploring 2 nuclear power units of 1,400 MW in Banka district of Bihar.'

According to the clarification, NTPC stated that it has not yet commenced any feasibility studies for establishing a Nuclear Power Project in Bihar.

However, NTPC affirmed that in the normal course of its business and long-term planning, the company continuously explores and evaluates multiple options and possible locations as part of its growth and diversification strategy.

The company noted that it is exploring locations, including Bihar, with pre-requisites specifications, for a Nuclear Power Project in various states. NTPC confirmed that these activities remain preliminary and exploratory, and do not constitute a concluded or material event requiring specific disclosure.

NTPC Stock Price Movement​

Today, NTPC Limited shares edged higher, settling at ₹410.2 and posting a gain of 2.58% on positive momentum. The stock saw substantial activity with 13.00 million shares traded, bringing it close to its 52-week high of ₹414.4.
