Airtel Broadband Outages in Noida Persist for Over a Month, Residents Consider Switching Providers
Frequent Internet Disruptions Reported in Sector 143
New Delhi/Noida, March 24: Airtel broadband users in parts of Noida, particularly Sector 143, are facing repeated and extended service outages, with disruptions lasting up to 6 to 7 hours daily for over a month. The ongoing issue has led to growing dissatisfaction among residents, many of whom are now considering switching to alternative internet service providers.Residents say the problem has intensified since early February, severely affecting daily routines and work commitments.
Residents Voice Frustration Over Prolonged Downtime
Deb, a resident of Gulshan Ikebana society in Sector 143, described the situation as increasingly frustrating."It has been a frustrating experience with the Airtel network since the beginning of February this year. The internet goes down for 5 to 6 hours very frequently, and we have no relief from these long outages," he said.
The issue persisted earlier this week as well, with significant outages reported on Monday and Tuesday.
Construction Work Linked to Cable Damage
According to residents and local sources, the disruptions may be linked to ongoing sewer construction work in the area. It is alleged that heavy machinery, including JCB cranes used by the Noida Authority, is repeatedly damaging Airtel’s underground cables, leading to service interruptions.Despite the recurring issue, there has been no official response from either Airtel or the Noida Authority.
Work-From-Home Professionals Hit Hard
The outages have had a direct impact on professionals working remotely. Rashmi, a resident of a nearby housing society, said the unreliable connection has disrupted her work schedule."This has never happened before, as Airtel has been a reliable service so far. These outages have affected my entire day's plan. I have no choice but to switch to Reliance Jio," she said.
She also questioned the lack of coordination between the telecom operator and local authorities.
"Why can't Airtel executives discuss and resolve this issue in detail with the Noida Authority and ensure uninterrupted service for its customers?" she added.
Previous Outage in Delhi-NCR Region
The current disruptions come against the backdrop of a major outage reported last year across Delhi and nearby regions, where Airtel users faced issues with voice calls, messaging, and internet services. At the time, the company acknowledged the disruption, stating that customers in the Delhi-NCR region were experiencing issues with voice calling. Airtel had said a significant part of the issue was resolved and that its engineers were working to restore full services, while expressing regret for the inconvenience caused.
Uncertainty Continues for Affected Users
With outages continuing for weeks and no official clarification from concerned authorities, uncertainty remains for Airtel users in Noida. Many residents are now actively exploring alternative service providers as the disruptions show no signs of easing.Disclaimer: Due care and diligence have been taken in compiling and presenting news and market-related content.
