Nestlé India Rejects Allegations of Insect Detection in Maggi Noodles

Nestle India has categorically rejected media allegations regarding the presence of infestation in its MAGGI noodles, responding to reports that detailed an FSSAI notice related to alleged insect detection.

The company addressed the circulating unverified claims, stating that it maintains stringent quality and food safety standards across all manufacturing operations. Nestlé confirmed that a detailed representation, supported by relevant facts, batch quality records, market samples, and test reports, has been submitted to competent authorities.

The complaint was initially made after a concern was raised by an unverified account holder on the social media platform X. Nestle India stated it had multiple times requested the complainant for a sample but received no response.

In adherence to standard procedure, the company sent a reference sample from the relevant batch for testing to an independent FSSAI notified and NABL accredited laboratory. The laboratory subsequently confirmed that the reference sample was free of any infestation.

Nestlé India stated it remains fully transparent with authorities and is confident that the facts and evidence will conclusively establish the truth of the matter.

The company further noted that its quality analysis on both batch and market samples conducted by the FSSAI Accredited lab confirms the absence of infestation in the products. A comprehensive report has been submitted to the FSSAI following their fact-finding query.
