Strong Early Passenger Traction After Commercial Launch​

Adani Group backed Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd has crossed the 1 lakh passenger milestone within just 19 days of commencing commercial flight operations, highlighting strong early demand from the Mumbai metropolitan region.

As of January 12, the airport handled a total of 1,09,917 passengers. This included 55,934 arriving passengers and 53,983 departing passengers. January 10 emerged as the busiest day during the period, with 7,345 passengers recorded across arrivals and departures.

Operations Scale Up Steadily​

Commercial passenger flight services at the Navi Mumbai International Airport began on December 25. The airport has an initial capacity to handle up to 20 million passengers annually.

Between December 25 and January 12, the airport recorded 734 air traffic movements, covering both arrivals and departures. This figure also included 32 general aviation flights, indicating early adoption across multiple aviation segments.

Baggage Handling and Cargo Movement​

During the same period, the airport processed 40,260 arriving bags and 38,774 departing bags, reflecting smooth baggage handling operations in the early phase of services.

Cargo operations have also commenced alongside passenger services. The airport handled 22.21 tonnes of cargo, underlining an integrated operational approach from the start.

Key Routes and Connectivity​

Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru emerged as the top connected sectors during the initial weeks of operations, reflecting demand across business and leisure travel routes.

With modern infrastructure, streamlined processes, and a calibrated scale up strategy, Navi Mumbai International Airport continues to expand services while maintaining operational efficiency. The early performance indicates a steady ramp up in travel demand and utilisation of the new aviation hub.
