MTAR Technologies Stock Surges to Upper Circuit Amidst Record Order Book and US Client Optimism

MTAR Technologies witnessed a historic rally on Tuesday, hitting the upper circuit for the fourth consecutive session following robust financial results for the first quarter of FY27. The stock continues its strong ascent after gaining nearly 22 percent since July 30. This sharp performance is largely attributed to the company's impressive operational execution and an expanding order book, buoyed by confidence over a key strategic relationship with a major US client.

Quarterly Results Drive Triple-Digit Growth

The company reported exceptionally strong financials for Q1 FY27. Revenue from operations surged 130.4 percent year-on-year to reach Rs 360.7 crore in the June quarter. Furthermore, EBITDA jumped an outstanding 199.7 percent, climbing to Rs 85.1 crore.

Consolidated profit after tax saw a massive leap of 364.5 percent compared to the previous year's corresponding quarter. MTAR Technologies recorded a net profit of Rs 50.2 crore for Q1 FY27, significantly up from Rs 10.8 crore in the prior year.

Record Order Intake and Operational Efficiency Gains

A major driver behind the stock's surge is the company's expanding order backlog and improved operational efficiency. In Q1 FY27 alone, MTAR secured orders worth Rs 2,895.1 crore, representing its highest single-quarter order inflow and surpassing the total intake for FY26.

As of June 30, 2026, the overall order book stands at an impressive Rs 5,143.3 crore. These high-value orders include a contract worth Rs 504 crore for the Kaiga 5 and 6 civil nuclear power project. The pipeline also features a Rs 45 crore order from global customer SLB for data centre infrastructure solutions.

Strategic Positioning Bolstered by US Client Tie-up

Beyond the financial metrics, market sentiment is strongly supported by MTAR's positioning with Bloom Energy. This association has enhanced the company's stature in the fuel cell segment, particularly concerning AI data centers. Bloom Energy plans to deploy its fuel cells in a proposed 1.8 GW data centre project located in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Analysts note that operational risk reduction is also a significant confidence builder. Net working capital days declined sharply to 59 in Q1 FY27 from 172 in Q4 FY26, driven by faster inventory and receivables turnover.

Analyst Perspectives on Future Trajectory

Market analysts maintain an optimistic outlook for the company's future growth. Management has guided for approximately 80 percent year-on-year revenue growth in FY27 while targeting an EBITDA margin of 24 percent, plus or minus 100 basis points. The leadership team also aims to solidify its presence across nuclear power, defence, and green energy sectors.

Virat Jagad of Bonanza commented that the stock has confirmed a breakout above the falling channel with strong buying activity. He advises that immediate support is positioned between Rs 5,900-6,000, while the next resistance zone lies in the Rs 6,600-6,800 band.

Investment Strategy and Buying Advice

Despite the robust performance, market experts advise a measured investment approach for new entrants. Mayank Jain of Share.Market by PhonePe cautioned that investors should wait for the stock price to stabilize. He noted that once the initial frenzy subsides and normal trading resumes after the upper circuit restrictions are lifted, it will offer better entry points.
