During his visit, Misri co-chaired the India-France Foreign Office Consultations alongside Martin Briens, the Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The dialogue was extensive, covering multiple strategic priorities.Discussions spanned critical areas including defence cooperation, civil nuclear energy, space technology, cyber and digital domains, and the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Furthermore, the two sides focused on innovation initiatives and fostering people-to-people exchanges.
Elevating People-to-People Exchanges
The visit is part of a larger diplomatic sweep, emphasizing India's cultural and academic ties with Europe. Earlier in Paris, Misri visited the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC).There, he observed the exhibition “L’Art de L’Inde: Aujourd’hui," which showcases the country’s living artistic traditions. The exhibition featured 80 artworks created by 40 Indian artists, highlighting India’s cultural depth.
Mapping Out Global Diplomatic Engagements
Misri arrived in Paris on Sunday for the India–France Foreign Office Consultations. The itinerary reflects the ongoing strong relationship between India and Europe.This visit follows the recent high-level exchanges, including French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India in February 2026. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the visit maintains the regular rhythm of high-level diplomatic interaction.
The momentum continues as Misri is scheduled to next visit Germany. There, he will co-chair Foreign Office Consultations with Geza Andreas von Geyr, State Secretary of the German Foreign Office.
The MEA stated that this full slate of visits is crucial for reviewing the complete spectrum of India’s bilateral relations. It also provides a platform to advance ongoing cooperation across key priority areas, following visits by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron to India in early 2026.
