Precision engineering components manufacturer Indo-MIM is set to finalize the basis of allotment for its Rs 3,811-crore initial public offering (IPO) today, July 28. The market response has been overwhelmingly positive across all investor categories, setting the stage for a potentially strong listing on both major exchanges.

IPO Subscription Demand Analysis

The three day public issue, which closed on July 27, demonstrated extraordinary demand from institutional investors. Data received from the National Stock Exchange showed the IPO was subscribed at an impressive 72.34 times. The company managed to receive bids for 3,98,55,09,960 shares against a total offering of 5,50,93,201 shares.

Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) led the demand spree with a massive subscription of 204.34 times. Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) followed closely behind at 50.63 times, while Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) saw a strong response rate of 6.67 times.

Financial Strength and Corporate Profile

Founded in 1996, Indo-MIM specializes in manufacturing precision engineering components using metal injection molding (MIM) technology. Its product lines serve critical sectors including automotive, defense, medical, consumer, and aerospace industries. The company reported solid financial growth for the financial year ended March 2026.

The IPO structure was priced within a band of Rs 461 to Rs 485 per share. It included a fresh issue amounting to Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) totaling Rs 3,311.21 crore by existing shareholders like Green Meadows Investments and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Anchor Investment and Market Expectations

The demand was significantly validated during the anchor period on July 22. Indo-MIM successfully raised Rs 1,141 crore from 92 anchor investors. These institutional buyers included global heavyweights such as Goldman Sachs and BlackRock Global Funds. The IPO is scheduled to list on the BSE and NSE on July 30.

Investor sentiment in the unlisted market remains exceptionally strong, supported by a significant grey market premium (GMP). According to reports from Investorgain and IPO Watch, the GMP for Indo-MIM shares stood at Rs 190 per share on July 28. This translates to an expected listing price of approximately Rs 675 per share.

Future Utilization and Key Financials

The company plans to use Rs 400 crore from the net fresh proceeds to repay outstanding borrowings. The remaining funds are earmarked for general corporate purposes. Indo-MIM’s financial health underpins this strong market reaction, having reported a profit of Rs 533.5 crore in March 2026. Revenue also saw a substantial growth of 25.9 percent, reaching Rs 4,193 crore.

The merchant bankers managing the complexities of this issue include HDFC Bank, Axis Capital, ICICI Securities, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, and SBI Capital Markets. The standard lot size for the IPO was fixed at 30 equity shares.
