Mahindra Group Appoints Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer​

Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Ms. Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer, effective September 1, 2026. This senior leadership role is set to guide and steward the Group's corporate brand and communications strategy.

In her capacity as Chief Brand Officer, Ms. Lamba will be responsible for leading the development and execution of a compelling brand narrative. Her mandate includes ensuring brand consistency across Mahindra Group's diverse business verticals, aligning all efforts with the Group's purpose-driven identity, and driving initiatives to enhance brand salience within both traditional and digital ecosystems.

Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD of Mahindra Group, welcomed the appointment, stating that Ms. Lamba's global experience, strategic thinking, bold creativity, and deep consumer insight make her well-equipped to strengthen the Mahindra brand. He added that her ability to elevate brands, inspire teams, and translate insights into impact will be invaluable as the Group continues to build a compelling brand narrative aligned with its values, vision, and business ambitions.

Ms. Lamba brings a substantial professional background to the Mahindra Group. She joins after an extensive global career spanning around 25 years at Unilever, where she held senior leadership positions across India, the UK, and the Netherlands. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a consistent ability to drive measurable business impact, supported by her strong communication skills and deep consumer insight.

Her professional expertise includes building tech-enabled beauty experiences and pioneering digital media models, which have been key in strengthening brand presence and expanding global footprints. Academically, Ms. Lamba holds a BSc and MSc in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her career reflects a journey of transformation, innovation, and cultural intelligence.
