Lupin Limited Presents Phase 1 Data on SOS1 Inhibitor LNP8701 at ASCO 2026

Lupin Limited announced that data from its Phase 1a trial evaluating LNP8701, an investigational SOS1 inhibitor, has been accepted for publication at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2026 Annual Meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 2, 2026, in Chicago, IL.

The abstract, titled "A phase 1 study to evaluate safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of LNP8701 (SOS1 inhibitor) in subjects with metastatic solid tumors," was published in the Developmental Therapeutics-Molecularly Targeted Agents and Tumor Biology track.

LNP8701 is an orally administered compound designed to function as an SOS1 (Son of Sevenless1) inhibitor. The drug aims to block SOS1-mediated RAS activation, thereby limiting oncogenic signaling pathways that promote tumor growth.

According to the abstract, the findings report on an ongoing first-in-human study involving patients with solid tumors. The trial results indicated that LNP8701 was well tolerated, demonstrating a desirable safety profile, favorable pharmacokinetics, and positive anti-tumor activity.

Preliminary efficacy data showed encouraging outcomes, with two patients completing LNP8701 monotherapy for 12 cycles, equivalent to one year. Additionally, one patient completed a total of 14 cycles and showed evidence of stable disease.

Vinita Gupta, CEO of Lupin, stated that the findings from the ongoing Phase 1 study highlight the emerging potential of LNP8701. She expressed that the progress encourages the company's commitment to transforming scientific discovery into meaningful patient outcomes for difficult-to-treat cancers.

The company noted that current data suggests LNP8701 is safe and well-tolerated across all tested dosing levels. Lupin plans to continue investigating the efficacy of LNP8701 through its Phase 1b trial in India, exploring its use for solid tumors both as a monotherapy and in combination regimens.
