Mumbai, January 13, 2026Lord’s Mark Industries Limited has secured a major infrastructure mandate for the implementation of solar-powered highway lighting at 104 identified accident-prone and blackspot locations along key national highway corridors in the Vijayawada region.

The project has been awarded for Phase 1 of a broader highway safety initiative and covers multiple critical stretches across National Highways 16 and 216. The mandate involves end-to-end execution, including survey, design, manufacturing, and implementation of intelligent solar lighting systems. The company is executing the project in partnership with Signify Innovations India Limited, formerly known as Philips Lighting India Limited.

Project Scope and Highway Coverage

The Phase 1 mandate spans several strategic highway sections identified for safety enhancement based on accident data and visibility diagnostics. The covered stretches include:
  • Km 741.255 to Km 1022.494 on the Anakapalli–Annavaram–Diwancheruvu section of NH-16
  • Diwancheruvu–Siddhantham–Gundugolanu section of NH-216
  • Gundugolanu–Devarapalli–Kovvuru stretch from Km 15.320 to Km 85.204 on NH-16
  • Kathipudi to the start of the Kakinada Bypass from Km 0.000 to Km 27.500 on NH-216
The Vijayawada assignment forms the first phase of a proposed multi-year, pan-India programme to be rolled out across national highways in multiple states over the next four years.

Technology-Led Road Safety Intervention

The project is positioned as a data-driven road safety solution, integrating accident analytics, visibility diagnostics, and intelligent solar lighting design. The lighting systems are engineered to address structural safety gaps at identified blackspots by improving key visibility parameters such as glare control, contrast loss reduction, approach angles, and driver reaction zones. The objective is to deliver measurable improvements in highway safety outcomes through technology-enabled infrastructure.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Sachidanand Upadhyay said the mandate validates the company’s execution capability and data-driven approach to infrastructure projects. He added that the award represents a strategic milestone and aligns with the company’s focus on public infrastructure, sustainable solutions, and technology-enabled safety systems, executed in collaboration with Signify Innovations India Limited.
