LG Electronics India Surpasses 1 Million AC Sales in Q1 CY26, Solidifying Market Leadership
New Delhi, April 2, 2026 – LG Electronics India (LGE India) announced today that it has sold over 1 million air conditioners in the first quarter of 2026, marking the fastest and strongest start to a summer season in the company's history in India. This achievement underscores LG India's operational efficiency and supply chain agility, reinforcing its position as a leader in the Indian air conditioner market.A key factor in this success was the company’s early launch of its new, BEE star-rated AC line-up, facilitating a seamless transition to energy-efficient products. The marketing campaign during the ICC World Cup also contributed to increased brand awareness and consumer engagement.
“Crossing 1 million AC sales in a single quarter is a powerful statement of the trust that millions of consumers place in LG every day,” said Mr. Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director, LG Electronics India. “India is one of LG's most strategically vital markets globally, and this result reflects our commitment to consumers, partners, and India's sustainable development. We are investing in innovation, distribution, and localization, and expanding our AC manufacturing facility in Sri City to reinforce our commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative.”
Mr. Sanjay Chitkara, Director & Co-Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, LG Electronics India added, “We are focused on delivering advanced, energy-efficient cooling solutions tailored for domestic and global consumers. The recent GST cuts on ACs have been a structural game-changer, improving affordability and accelerating the democratization of energy-efficient cooling.”
LG India has broadened its AC line-up this quarter, including the introduction of a 0.8 ton AC under its Essential Series, and a 2.0 ton 5-star range catering to the premium home segment. The company also introduced a comprehensive fixed-speed AC portfolio spanning window and split segments.
The 2026 AC range features smart functionalities such as PreCool for remote activation, HimClean for internal auto-cleaning, and Energy Manager Plus for real-time power consumption visibility. The line-up also boasts a rated cooling capacity of up to 5300W and a maximum capacity of 6300W, with the 6-in-1 Convertible Cooling technology providing operational flexibility.
LGE India also exports its Made-in-India ACs to Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia
