Lead Reclaim Rubber Products Ventures into Tyre Pyrolysis Oil Production in Gujarat
Lead Reclaim and Rubber Products Ltd (LRRPL), an ISO 9001:2015 and MSME ZED certified manufacturer of premium reclaim rubber, butyl reclaim rubber granules, and crumb rubber powder, announced its venture into a new product line comprising Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) and Recovered Carbon Black (RCB) plant at Mundra, Gujarat. The expansion positions LRRPL within the growing green fuels sector, particularly in anticipation of shifts in regulatory approvals for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and marine fuel opportunities.
The industry faces increasing interest in pyrolysis oil for sustainable applications. Reports published in prior years indicated indicative blending targets for SAF starting at 1% and scaling towards 15% over time. Government targets for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) include a 1 per cent blending target by 2027, 2 per cent by 2028, and 5 per cent by 2030 for international flights. India is cited as a rapidly growing civil aviation market with significant potential for SAF production, given the available feedstock.
Currently, aviation fuel relies entirely on natural resources, making substitutes like TPO beneficial for recycling and compliance with EPR norms, while also being noted for their sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
LRRPL stated that its high-quality TPO will align with the required technical upgrades, certifications, and partnerships necessary for its use in these high-value applications. The company plans an investment of ₹20-25 Crore to achieve a target capacity of 1,500 MT/month for TPO + RCB. The realistic timeline for full operationalization will be determined by the company in the short period.
Jayeshh Patel, Managing Director at Lead Reclaim and Rubber Products, stated that the pivot into TPO and RCB places LRRPL at the forefront of the green fuels revolution. He noted that these innovations are costefficient, fully compliant with 100% EPR norms, and poised to generate significant growth.
LRRPL, an NSE emerge listed company based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is a recognized manufacturer of top Tyre reclaim rubber, Butyl reclaim rubber granules, and Crumb rubber powder, all derived from recycled scrap rubber. The company has been in operation since 2012.
