Larsen & Toubro Ltd. on Wednesday, February 25, announced that its Power Transmission and Distribution vertical has secured major engineering, procurement, and construction contracts in India and overseas markets. Grid Modernisation Projects in West Bengal
In India, the company has received an order to design, supply, and construct two 220 kV gas insulated substations in the Durgapur Raniganj Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal.The scope of work also includes associated transmission line segments featuring advanced conductors and multi circuit towers. According to the company, these grid modernisation initiatives are aimed at delivering a stable voltage profile and enhancing power network reliability to support infrastructure and industrial growth in the region.
Middle East Orders Include 500 kV Transmission Projects
In the Middle East, the company has secured turnkey orders from key utilities for the construction of five substations along with over 250 kilometres of transmission lines. These projects span three countries in the region and go up to the 500 kV level.In one of the projects, the scope includes the supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system, further strengthening high capacity transmission infrastructure in the region.
The contracts collectively involve the establishment of critical elements of the electricity grid system across geographies.
LIGO India Observatory Order Adds To Order Book
A day earlier, two business verticals of the company, Heavy Civil Infrastructure and Heavy Engineering, jointly secured a significant order from the Centre’s atomic energy department to set up the LIGO India Observatory in Hingoli district, Maharashtra.Share Price Update
