L&T Bags Massive Orders Worth Rs 10,000–Rs 15,000 Cr, Cementing Role in India's Industrial Mega-Growth
Larsen & Tata (L&T) has secured significant contracts valued between Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 15,000 crore across the metals and minerals segment. These wins underscore L&T’s pivotal role as a key infrastructure provider, supporting India's accelerating push to augment domestic industrial capacity. The newly secured orders cover diverse projects ranging from iron ore handling plants to specialized processing facilities for critical materials like zinc, solidifying L&T's presence across both the public and private industrial sectors.
##Securing Major Iron Ore Processing Contracts
A substantial portion of these contracts involves supporting the burgeoning mineral sector. L&T has been awarded a major package for an 18 MTPA Iron Ore Handling Plant located in Chhattisgarh.
This project is central to a larger expansion program aimed at achieving 100 MTPA of iron ore production capacity by 2030. For this critical piece of infrastructure, L&T will be responsible for the entire engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) process.
The extensive scope of work includes the design and engineering, installation, and commissioning of numerous auxiliary systems. These systems encompass a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockpile management, yard equipment, and a rapid wagon loading system.
##Expanding Steel Production and Zinc Processing Capacity
L&T's commitment extends beyond iron ore, encompassing major expansions within steel manufacturing. The company has secured design and build as well as balance of plant packages for a significant project in West Bengal.
This project involves a Navratna public sector company expanding its existing steel plant operations. The expansion will boost the facility’s capacity from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA, providing much-needed scale to the nation's industrial base.
In addition to these large infrastructure projects, L&T has further cemented its industry standing by securing an EPC order for a specialized Zinc processing Plant, partnering with a major private sector metals producer.
##Commitment to National Industrial Infrastructure
Chairman and Managing Director SN Subrahmanyan highlighted that these successes reflect the deep trust placed in L&T’s capabilities by their clients. He stated that these wins affirm the company's ability to execute projects of exceptional scale and complexity across diverse industrial domains.
Subrahmanyan emphasized that as India intensifies its investments in expanding its metals and minerals capacity, L&T remains steadfastly committed to partnering with leading enterprises. This commitment is directed toward developing world-class industrial infrastructure necessary for sustainable long-term economic growth in the country.
