Kotak Bank Completes Share Sub-division; Shareholders Urged to Submit KYC Details and Claim New Shares

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited has completed a significant equity share sub-division, affecting holders of physical securities. The Bank is simultaneously calling upon these shareholders to submit mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) details and take necessary steps regarding their updated shareholding status.

The Bank confirmed the completion of the sub-division in January 2026. Under this change, one existing equity share, which had a face value of Rupees Five only (Rs 5/-), was divided into five new equity shares, each bearing a face value of Re 1/- (Rupee One only).

The completed split requires shareholders holding physical securities to take action concerning their KYC compliance and the claim of their post-split shares.

Action Required for Shareholders

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited has communicated that all folios where certain mandatory documents or details are missing must complete specific actions. These required submissions relate to Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation, nomination status, and claiming equity shares resulting from the sub-division.

Shareholders are requested to furnish essential KYC details, which include PAN, postal address with PIN code, email address, mobile number, bank account details, and a latest specimen signature. The Bank emphasized that failure to provide these documents or details means that the folio will not be eligible to receive any dividend declared on shares or to lodge grievances through KFin Technologies Limited, the Registrar and Transfer Agent.

In addition to KYC requirements, shareholders are asked to provide their choice of nomination, if not already done, using the relevant forms.

The Bank also advised physical security holders that their post-split shareholding has been credited into a separate Demat Suspense Escrow Pool Account. Shareholders must submit requisite documents and forms to the Bank or KFinTech to successfully claim their equity shares resulting from the sub-division.

KOTAKBANK Stock Price Movement

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited shares edged higher today, closing at ₹377.15 after gaining ₹7.20 or 1.95%. The stock settled on the post-market trade, with a traded volume of 30.72 million shares.
