Juniper Green Energy Secures 230 MW Capacity for Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy under SECI Tender
Juniper Green Energy Limited (JGE) has secured a significant contract, emerging as the winning bidder for 230 MW of capacity through an e-Reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). This award is part of SECI's 1000 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy Round-The-Clock (RTC) tender. The company secured the renewable energy capacity at a tariff rate of ₹5.26 per unit. The project carries an expected Letter of Award (LOA), which is anticipated to be issued according to the timelines set out in the original tender document.
This successful bid enhances JGE's portfolio of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) and Round-the-Clock projects. The project will be supported by a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI, and the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) has been set at 24 months from the PPA Effective Date.
The tender conditions require the project to meet specific Delivered Firm Round-the-Clock (DFR) commitments. These commitments include a minimum of 90% DFR during designated peak hours, ranging between 50 and 60% during solar hours, and 70% during non-solar, non-peak hours. Juniper Green Energy plans to utilize its integrated capabilities across solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) technologies to guarantee reliable power delivery.
Ankush Malik, Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Green Energy Limited, commented on the development, stating that the successful bid marks a crucial milestone in building large-scale, reliable renewable energy solutions for India's evolving power demands. He emphasized that Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy is becoming increasingly vital for enabling round-the-clock clean power, strengthening JGE's position in this growing market segment.
