Extensive Background and Experience
Shri Mandar Vighnahari Deo possesses a robust academic background, holding a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Pune University. He further completed an MBA from the Kelly School of Business - Indiana University and earned a PhD from Pennsylvania State University.Prior to joining JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, Mr. Deo served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Exide Energy Solutions Limited, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exide Industries. During his tenure at Exide, he played a pivotal role in establishing India's first lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility, an initiative that involved an investment exceeding Rs. 6,000 crores.
His professional career also includes a significant two-decade tenure with Cummins India and Cummins Inc. Over these 20 years, Mr. Deo held numerous leadership roles across various business units. His responsibilities encompassed managing P&L and leading diverse teams across manufacturing plants, technical centers, and sales operations. Additionally, he served as a Board Director for Cummins Generator Technologies and accrued global experience in sales marketing and plant operations during his time in the United States of America.
