Indri Adopts IMWA Certification Hologram to Reinforce Authenticity in Indian Single Malt Whisky

Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd has announced that its brand, Indri, will begin carrying the Indian Malt Whisky Association (IMWA) Certification Hologram on its bottles. This move is designed to affirm commitment to authenticity and uphold globally recognized whisky-making standards as Indian single malts continue to grow in global stature.

The introduction of the IMWA Certification Hologram marks a significant step for the domestic single malt industry, serving as a visible symbol of authenticity for consumers, retailers, distributors, and enthusiasts worldwide. The certification confirms adherence to stringent production standards set by the Indian Malt Whisky Association, thereby supporting India’s rising reputation as a producer of premium whiskies. This initiative aims to strengthen consumer confidence and safeguard the integrity of one of India's fastest-growing spirit categories.

Under the established IMWA guidelines, an authentic Indian Single Malt Whisky must meet several rigorous parameters. These include being produced exclusively from 100% malted barley, distilled entirely at a single distillery using copper pot stills, crafted using only malted barley, water and yeast, and matured for a minimum of three years in oak casks that do not exceed 700 litres in capacity.

Praveen Malviya, CEO of Piccadily Agro Industries Limited, stated his support for the initiative, saying, "The IMWA Certification Hologram is a significant step towards strengthening the credibility of Indian Single Malt Whisky on the global stage by assuring consumers that the whisky they are enjoying conforms to internationally accepted production standards. We are proud to support this initiative and believe it will play an important role in shaping the future of Indian Single Malts."

The IMWA, which was established in 2024, is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting authentic Indian Malt Whisky through robust technical standards, certification frameworks, and industry advocacy. The hologram signifies that the whisky has been produced according to the association's rigorous guidelines, aligning with globally accepted principles of single malt production.
