Trading across BSE Ltd. (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was suspended for equities, equity derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments. Market operations will resume in the next trading session.

Special Note: Muhurat Trading on Diwali

Stock exchanges have notified that November 8, 2026 (Sunday) will be a trading holiday for Diwali Laxmi Pujan. However, Muhurat Trading will be conducted on the same day, with exact timings to be announced via a separate circular.

Market Impact

With today’s closure, no trading or clearing activity will take place in the equity segment. Investors and traders are advised to account for settlement cycles around upcoming holidays such as Mahavir Jayanti (March 31) and Good Friday (April 3).

Commodity Market Closures​

The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) has declared a trading holiday for the first half, or the morning session. Trading in commodities on all exchanges will begin in the evening session at 5 pm.

Market Performance​

Stock markets ended higher for the second consecutive session on Wednesday, March 26, supported by falling oil prices and positive global cues. The Nifty rose 1.72 per cent, or 392.70 points, to close at 23,306.45. The Sensex advanced 1.63 per cent, or 1,205 points, to settle at 75,273.45.
