
Indian Energy Exchange Reports Strong Financial Results for FY26, Announces Dividend
Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) has announced its audited financial results for the Financial Year and Fourth Quarter ending March 31, 2026. The company reported significant year-over-year growth, alongside key updates on India's power and gas trading markets.IEX’s performance in FY'26 saw the exchange achieve record operational metrics, including the highest ever traded electricity volume. The Board of Directors also announced a final dividend of INR 2/-, equivalent to 200% of the face value of the equity share.
Financial Highlights for IEX
IEX reported robust increases in both its standalone and consolidated revenue and profit after tax (PAT) across the fiscal year and the fourth quarter.For the Financial Year 2026:
The exchange achieved a total traded electricity volume of 141.1 Billion Units (BUs), marking a 17% increase year-over-year (YoY). Furthermore, 187.20 lakh Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) were traded, setting a new record for a financial year.
The standalone revenue reached INR 744.9 crore in FY'26, up 13.9% YoY from INR 654.3 crore in FY'25. The standalone PAT grew to INR 473.7 crore, reflecting a 14.2% YoY increase compared to INR 414.6 crore in FY'25.
Consolidated figures showed revenue at INR 747.0 crore in FY'26, up 13.6% YoY from INR 657.4 crore in FY'25. Consolidated PAT reached INR 492.9 crore in FY'26, representing a 14.9% YoY increase from INR 429.2 crore in FY'25.
For the Fourth Quarter of FY 2026:
Operational metrics also peaked in Q4FY'26, with the quarterly traded electricity volume reaching a record 39.4 BUs, an increase of 24.3% YoY.
In terms of earnings, standalone revenue was INR 194.4 crore in Q4FY'26, up 12.8% YoY compared to INR 172.2 crore in Q4FY'25. Standalone PAT stood at INR 124.0 crore, an increase of 10.7% YoY from INR 112.0 crore recorded in Q4FY'25.
Consolidated revenue for the quarter was INR 196.4 crore in Q4FY'26, up 12.5% YoY from INR 174.6 crore in Q4FY'25. Consolidated PAT reached INR 129.8 crore, showing a 10.8% YoY increase compared to INR 117.1 crore in Q4FY'25.

Power and Gas Market Updates
On the broader energy front, India's electricity demand was recorded at approximately 1,709 BUs, indicating around 1% growth over the previous year. Coal production in FY'26 totaled 1,041 million tonnes, keeping the coal inventory at 25 days as of March 31, 2026.During FY'26, enhanced generation from wind, hydro, and solar sources, coupled with steady coal-based supply, led to higher supply liquidity on the exchange platform. This resulted in a decline in DayAhead Market (DAM) and Real-Time Market (RTM) prices. For FY'26, the Market Clearing Price in the DayAhead Market settled at INR 3.86/unit, a decline of 13.7% compared to FY'25. Similarly, the Market Clearing Price in the Real-Time Market was INR 3.59/unit, down 16% compared to FY'25.
In the gas market, IGX facilitated a record trading volume of 76.8 million MMBtu in FY'26, representing a 28% YoY growth. IGX reported a profit after tax of INR 41.9 crore in FY'26, marking a 35% increase from INR 30.9 crore recorded in FY'25.
Furthermore, ICX issued 179 lakh I-REC during FY'26, a growth exceeding 200% compared to FY'25. ICX recorded revenue of INR 7.7 crore in FY'26, a substantial increase of 126% YoY from INR 3.4 crore in FY'25.
