
Tata Power Commissions Transmission Lines in Uttar Pradesh
New Transmission Assets Boost Power Evacuation Capacity
New Delhi, March 25 – Tata Power announced the commissioning of two key transmission lines in Uttar Pradesh, furthering the company’s expansion of its transmission network. The newly commissioned assets include a 400 Kilovolt (kV) Tanda–Gonda line and a 400kV Gonda–Basti double-circuit line, totaling 154 circuit kilometers (Ckm).Expanded Transmission Network
The commissioning of these four transmission assets – the 765 kV Mainpuri–Bara Single Circuit Line, the 765 kV Mainpuri–Unnao Single Circuit Line, the 400 kV Tanda–Gonda line, and the 400kV Gonda-Basti double-circuit line – will facilitate the safe and reliable evacuation of over 4,000 MW of thermal power generated within the state.The expanded network now comprises three 765 kV lines spanning 951 Ckm, fourteen 400 kV lines spanning 566 Ckm, and three 765/400 kV substations with 3460 MVA transformation capacity.
Tata Power’s total operational transmission network has grown to 5,466 circuit kilometers, with an additional 1,863 circuit kilometers currently under construction.
Project Details
The SEUPPTCL project, part of Resurgent Power Ventures Pte. Ltd., a joint venture led by Tata Power, ICICI Bank, and global investors, was acquired as part of the resolution of stressed assets in the power sector. This portfolio encompasses the entire power value chain, including renewable and conventional energy generation, transmission, distribution, trading, storage solutions, and solar cell and module manufacturing.
