IKS Health has announced the launch of its AI-driven revenue cycle management (RCM) audit-ready coding engine. This new offering combines advanced automation with expert human coders, aiming to enhance coding accuracy and reduce claim denials.

The autonomous coding engine delivers up to 95% coding accuracy and is designed to handle the complexities of U.S. claims, where the average denial rate is cited at 12%. The system is integrated with Epic and is available within the Epic Connection Hub.

Core Functionality and Accuracy Improvements​

The IKS Health solution utilizes structured and coding-ready clinical documentation to smartly analyze patient charts. The AI and rule-based logic suggest CPT, ICD, and E/M codes, and a confidence score is provided for every code suggested.

The workflow incorporates human oversight for codes flagged with low confidence. AI-approved codes proceed through rules and payer validation. Accuracy is further ensured via a pre-bill review layer, revenue rules checks, compliance validation, and payer propensity analysis. Furthermore, the engine is inherently audit ready, providing justification reports that cite specific charted clinical evidence.

Integration and Platform Value​

The IKS Health autonomous coding engine is vendor agnostic and integrates with IKS Health's Scribble Now ambient AI scribe solution. This integration creates an agentic AI-powered workflow spanning from the patient chart to the code and subsequently to revenue.
