Scope and Strategic Importance

Spanning nearly 160 acres, the new facility will house advanced manufacturing and assembly infrastructure. Its scope includes dedicated integration buildings, explosive handling and storage facilities, and extensive testing infrastructure, notably acoustic tank facilities, alongside administrative buildings and a dedicated green belt.

The primary focus of the facility will be developing underwater weapon systems, torpedoes, mines, and associated naval systems, significantly bolstering India's underwater warfare capabilities and long-term defense preparedness.
