Beardsell Limited has secured a favorable ruling concerning the protection of its intellectual property rights after the Madras High Court dismissed an appeal filed by opponents regarding trademark infringement.The Company had previously pursued legal action against Beardsell Polymers Private Limited and Others, referred to as 'Opponents', in the Hon'ble High Court of Madras. The lawsuit addressed issues of trademark infringement and passing off, aimed at safeguarding the corporate name/trademark "BEARDSELL." Initially, the High Court had intervened in the matter and granted a perpetual injunction favoring the Company after cracking down on the infringement.
The opponents subsequently challenged this decision by lodging an appeal before the Division Bench of the Hon'ble High Court.
A judgment was delivered by the Hon'ble High Court on June 1, 2026. This judgment dismissed the appeal filed by the Opponents, thereby upholding the perpetual injunction that is in favor of Beardsell Limited. The company received a copy of the order from its legal counsel on June 4, 2026.
Beardsell Limited confirmed that the court order will not have any material financial impact on the Company.
