
Hatton National Bank and Nucleus Software Mark Five Years of Partnership in Transaction Banking Transformation
Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB), a leading private sector bank in Sri Lanka, and Nucleus Software, a global provider of lending and transaction banking solutions, celebrated five years of their partnership. The milestone recognized the role of FinnAxia®, Nucleus Software's flagship transaction banking platform, in modernizing HNB’s corporate banking ecosystem and supporting the bank’s digital transformation goals.The celebration brought together leaders from both organizations to affirm a collaboration built on trust and innovation. Since commencing the partnership in 2021, FinnAxia® has played a pivotal role in bolstering HNB's transaction banking capabilities. The platform enables seamless digital experiences across various functions, including Vendor payments, Payroll processing, Bill payments, Receivables, API banking, Host-to-Host connectivity, and Cross-border transactions.
The solution also integrates strong MIS and customer relationship views covering aspects such as CASA statements and Loan details, helping HNB build the agility necessary to meet evolving customer expectations and scale its business in a digital environment. The adoption of FinnAxia® is demonstrated by an average of over 3000 users engaging with the platform daily.
The platform supports straight-through processing across LankaPay payment rails (including CEFT, SLIPS, and RTGS) and facilitates LPOPP Electronic bill payments for ASYCUDA, EPF, and SLPA. With the introduction of ETF, HNB and its corporate customers now access a comprehensive suite of transaction banking offerings through a single platform.
Commenting on the five-year milestone, Damith Pallewatte, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of HNB, stated that the partnership has strengthened HNB's position as a leader in Sri Lanka’s transaction banking sector. He noted that FinnAxia® has allowed the bank to deliver a modern, digital-first experience for corporate clients while enhancing operational agility and supporting growth.
