As of March 31, 2026, a total investment amounting to ₹8,117.64 crores has been committed by the companies operating under this initiative. A total of 170 companies have received approval under the PLI scheme for Textiles. The geographical distribution reveals that several states have successfully attracted massive investment capital. Gujarat stands out as a leader in investment, securing ₹1903.38 crores across 46 companies.Karnataka and Tamil Nadu also emerged as strong hubs for textile investment. Karnataka registered an investment of 1515.99 crores through six companies. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu saw significant commitment totaling 1277.16 crores with 17 participating firms. Goa also contributed substantially to the sector, recording an investment of 1355.87 crores.
Employment Generation by State
The PLI scheme is playing a crucial role in boosting rural and industrial employment across various states. Tamil Nadu registered the highest number of jobs generated, with 7930 new positions created across 17 companies. Karnataka also showcased impressive job creation, generating 5611 jobs through its six approved firms.Other states making notable contributions include Andhra Pradesh, which generated 2619 jobs from five companies. Bihar and Dadra & Nagar Haveli (UT) are also pivotal in employment generation, with 3465 and 1310 jobs created respectively. Madhya Pradesh contributed 4970 jobs through 22 approved companies.

Investment activity remains widespread, touching upon states across the country. Gujarat's investment figure of 1903.38 crores reflects its leadership in textile industry growth.
