Infrastructure Concerns Surface on Major Gujarat Road Link
In the Nathoda-Velacha-Moti Naroli corridor, residents are expressing growing frustration over the stalled construction of a vital road. The proposed highway linking Hathoda, Velacha, Moti Naroli, and Moto Borasra to Kimne has been deemed crucial for the daily life of people in 15 to 20 villages. The initial plan for this vital road was approved last year, with a sanctioned amount of ₹8.32 lakh for its modernization. Local residents had been optimistic that the project would be completed efficiently, providing a permanent solution to long-standing infrastructure issues.
However, after a promising start eight months ago, the construction work has slowed considerably over the last two months due to unstated reasons. With the monsoon season nearing its end, locals are warning that if the road is not completed before the rains, it will pose a major hazard for vehicle owners and the general public from several villages, including Hathoda, Velacha, Moti Naroli, Moto Borasra, Mangrol, Jhankhav, and Umarpada.
Villagers who rely on this road daily report that large potholes have developed, making passage extremely dangerous, particularly during the monsoon. Despite the local agitation, residents are demanding accountability and immediate action from the contractor.
