GMP Signals Strong Listing for Milky Mist Dairy Food IPO; Analysts Advise Long-Term Perspective
Milky Mist Dairy Food’s Rs 1,553 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) has intensified investor focus as it enters its final day of bidding. The stock is witnessing significant interest, with the Grey Market Premium (GMP) currently hovering around 15% above the upper price band of Rs 140 per share. This positive market sentiment suggests a healthy listing outcome if current trends are sustained. However, while the GMP indicates strong retail enthusiasm, analysts emphasize that the issue appears fully valued at the higher end of the established price band. Despite this valuation consideration, experts have nevertheless given a “Subscribe – Long Term” rating, targeting investors with a long-term investment horizon.

IPO Structure and Fund Utilization Strategy
The Rs 1,553 crore book-built issue is structured as a fresh issue of 10.20 crore shares, valued at Rs 1,428 crore. This is complemented by an Offer For Sale (OFS) component of 0.89 crore shares, valued at Rs 125 crore.Under the OFS, promoter shareholders Sathishkumar T. and Anitha S. will partially reduce their stake by selling shares worth Rs 75 crore and Rs 50 crore, respectively. The company has secured Rs 465.29 crore from anchor investors alone, having allotted 3.32 crore equity shares to 19 investors at the upper price band of Rs 140 per share.
The proceeds raised through the fresh issue are designated for critical corporate objectives. Milky Mist Dairy Food plans to utilize Rs 496.86 crore towards repaying or prepaying certain outstanding borrowings. Additionally, Rs 469.24 crore is earmarked for capital expenditure (CAPEX) for expansion and modernization of its Perundurai manufacturing facility.
Financial Performance and Strategic Expansion Plans
Milky Mist Dairy Food demonstrated a sharp improvement in its financial health during FY26. Total income rose a robust 34% year-on-year to Rs 3,145.01 crore, up from Rs 2,354.79 crore in the preceding financial year (FY25).The company’s profitability saw an even sharper jump, with Profit After Tax (PAT) rising 176% to Rs 127.01 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 46.07 crore in FY25. These strong results underpin the management's plan for strategic growth and deleveraging.
Further investments are planned to enhance market reach and distribution efficiency. The company intends to spend Rs 155.31 crore on deploying specialized equipment including visi coolers, ice cream freezers, and chocolate coolers. This combined focus on debt reduction, capacity expansion, and market strengthening defines the use of IPO funds.
Expert Assessment: Valuation vs. Growth Potential
Analyst perspectives provide a measured view on the investment opportunity. A research report by Anand Rathi has assigned an implied P/E multiple of 84.9x based on FY2026 earnings at the upper end of the IPO price band. While this indicates that the IPO may be fully valued at the premium level, the brokerage acknowledges the company's strong revenue growth and its commanding leadership in key value-added dairy categories.Ultimately, Anand Rathi recommends a “Subscribe – Long Term” rating. This suggests that while listing gains should not be the primary focus, investors who are confident in Milky Mist’s long-term prospects and market positioning can consider subscribing to the issue.
