Operational Insights and Management Commentary

Mr. Ramkumar Senthilvel, Managing Director of Glottis Limited, commented on the performance, noting that the first quarter reflected an improvement in revenue despite a volatile global logistics environment, which was affected by geopolitical developments and changes in freight rates across key trade corridors.

During the quarter, the company handled 21,841 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). Sea Import remained the largest business vertical, contributing 70% of revenue, reflecting a 24.1% YoY growth. Sea Export also saw substantial activity, with its revenue growing by 83.5% YoY and increasing its contribution to 20% from 15% in Q1 FY2026.

The business segments are showing gradual increases in contribution from air freight and other multimodal services. Air Import revenue grew 97.1% YoY, while Air Export revenue increased 240.4% YoY. Transport revenue for the quarter was Rs. 107 million, and the company began generating revenue from warehousing operations.

The financial performance was impacted by higher operating costs and shifts in the business mix. Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs. 107 million, translating to a PAT Margin of 4.6%. The management stated that the focus remains on improving shipment-level profitability and maintaining cost discipline as the business scales.

Customer Base and Industry Diversification

On the client side, Glottis added 260 new customers in Q1 FY2027. Concurrently, the contribution from the top five customers reduced to 29% of revenue, indicating a successful effort toward building a more diversified revenue profile across its logistics offerings.

Regarding industry segmentation, Renewable Energy was the largest contributor at 38% of revenue. Consumer Durables increased their contribution to 10% from 7% in Q1 FY2026, while Chemicals also saw an increase, rising to 7% from 3%. This broader mix reduces reliance on any single sector for customer acquisition.

Operationally, the company added 38 owned vehicles during the quarter, bringing its total owned fleet size to 80 vehicles. This expansion is intended to improve control over transportation requirements and enhance service flexibility for customers across various routes.

GLOTTIS Stock Price Movement

Shares of Glottis Limited on Tuesday slipped by 0.91% to settle at ₹67.15, having shed ₹0.62 from the previous close. The stock was traded 37,382 shares during the session period.
