Global Health Ltd to Acquire 79-Bedded Cancer Care Hospital in Indore

Global Health Ltd announced that its Board of Directors approved the execution of a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA). The transaction involves acquiring a 79-bedded Cancer Care Hospital located in Indore, strengthening the company's presence in oncology services.

The Board meeting held on April 27, 2026, authorized the BTA for the hospital in Indore, which is situated in close proximity to Global Health Ltd's existing facility in the region. The approval also included the assignment of the existing lease deed and the execution of a fresh lease for an additional 1,700 sqft within the facility.

Acquisition Details

The target hospital is a 79-bedded Advanced Super Specialty Hospital currently operated by Asian Institute of Oncology Private Limited (AIOPL). AIOPL was reported to have a turnover of Rs. 19.9 million for the financial year 2024-25. The acquisition grants Global Health Ltd 100% control over the business undertaking.

The transaction is structured as a cash consideration, with Medanta agreeing to pay Rs. 30 crores for the transfer of the business under the BTA.

Operational Impact and Financing

The addition of the 79-bedded hospital increases the operational capacity of Medanta. As of March 31, 2026, Medanta had an existing capacity of 3,579 beds.

The company stated that the new hospital will be added to the Medanta network upon completion of the transaction, subject to necessary statutory and customary approvals. The acquisition is strategically significant as the target hospital is only 500 meters from the existing Medanta Indore facility, ensuring seamless integration and operational synergies.

The rationale for the acquisition is that the hospital will allow Medanta to further strengthen its presence in the region, enhance its portfolio of tertiary and quaternary care services, and fill a specialty gap in oncology services.

The investment required for the BTA is Rs. 30 crores, which will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and debt funding.

Shares of Global Health Limited are edging higher to ₹1158.25 as of 2:58 PM today, rallying 4.77% in live trading. The stock is experiencing strong institutional flow, which has pushed the total volume to 135,137 shares.
