Financial Analysis
For the full year FY26, revenue stood at Rs. 4,737.5 crore, marking a strong 94.0% year-on-year growth over FY25's Rs. 2,442.0 crore. This acceleration was attributed to sustained smart metering project execution, robust order book conversion, and continued scale-up across various state-level deployments. The company's operational profitability also showed considerable improvement. EBITDA climbed 104.3% year-on-year, reaching Rs. 960.2 crore from Rs. 469.9 crore in FY25. This resulted in an improvement of 102 basis points year-on-year, bringing the EBITDA margin to 20.3%.
Net Profit After Tax (from continuing operations) saw a sharp 106.5% year-on-year increase, arriving at Rs. 605.0 crore, up from Rs. 293.0 crore in FY25.
In Q4FY26 alone, revenue was Rs. 1,523.7 crore, registering 62.7% year-on-year growth compared to Rs. 936.8 crore in Q4FY25. EBITDA increased by 36.2% year-on-year to Rs. 284.0 crore, with the EBITDA margin standing at 18.6%.
During the quarter, revenue growth was supported by strong execution momentum in the smart metering business and healthy order book conversion. The company noted that the moderation in Gross Profit Margin was due to changes in product mix, involving higher raw material consumption in project business, alongside adverse impacts from exchange rate fluctuations due to imported raw material usage.
Operational Outlook and Industry Position
Jitendra Kumar Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, Genus Power Infrastructures, highlighted that the company delivered a landmark performance in FY26, reflecting strong execution capabilities and deep domain expertise in advanced metering infrastructure services (AMISP).He noted that the company crossed the milestone of installing more than 1 crore smart meters under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) programs. The company's manufacturing capacity currently exceeds 18 million meters annually, enabling support for both captive AMISP needs and supplies to utilities.
Looking ahead, Agarwal stated that the company remains highly confident regarding the long-term opportunity in the sector, given the estimated requirement of over 31-32 crore smart meters in India, with only approximately 15.6 crore meters having been tendered so far.
While the company expects FY27 to mark another phase of significant scale-up in project execution, Agarwal projected that the revenue could reach approximately Rs. 6,000 - 6,500 crore. He emphasized that this growth would be driven by increasing rollout intensity across existing projects and continued conversion of the large executable order book into realized revenues.
