The bank's total business volume crossed the ₹50,000 Crore mark, driven by strong performance in secured lending and retail deposits.

The results indicate an improvement across key areas, including asset quality strengthening and a sharp rise in interest income. The Managing Director and CEO of ESAF SFB commented that Q1 FY27 reflected steady progress toward the bank's transformation journey, noting that its strategy focused on building a diversified, secured, and customer-centric portfolio was yielding encouraging results for growth and profitability.

Advances and Deposit Growth Surge​

The secured portfolio saw substantial growth, with secured advances reaching ₹14,465 Crore, up 35% YoY, constituting 62% of the total advanced portfolio. Unsecured advances stood at ₹8,751 Crore, growing by 16% YoY.

In terms of deposits, the bank’s deposit base grew to ₹26,924 Crore, a 19% increase year over year. Current Account Savings Account (CASA) stood at ₹6,297 Crore, which is up 12% YoY. The Cost of Funds for Q1 FY27 was reported at 7.1%, down from 7.4% in Q1 FY26.

Financial Strength and Asset Quality​

The bank’s focus on risk management and asset quality remains strong. The Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) improved to 5.4%, while the Net NPA (NNPA) stood at a low 0.8%. Slippages for Q1 FY27 were reported to be 84% lower compared to Q1 FY26 and 29% lower QoQ.

Financially, Interest Income crossed ₹1,098 Crore, marking a 33% YoY increase. Pre-Provision Operating Profit (PPOP) registered a substantial rise of 179% YoY at ₹349 Crore. The bank’s return metrics stood at 1.0% for Return on Assets (RoA) and 17.5% for Return on Equity (RoE).

ESAF Small Finance Bank maintains a healthy balance sheet, with Networth standing at ₹1,864 Crore. The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) was reported at 23.9%, supported by a Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) of 133.3% as of June 30, 2026.
