EIH Associated Hotels Limited has secured full relief regarding penalty demands related to the Income Tax Act, 1961, following a favorable order from the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Chennai [CIT(A)].

The company had previously faced penalty orders issued under Section 270A of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for the financial years 2016-17 and 2017-18. The original penalty amounts were recorded as ₹27,80,943 for the financial year 2016-17 and ₹11,98,113 for the financial year 2017-18.

Challenging these penalty orders, EIH Associated Hotels Limited had filed an appeal before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Chennai.

The company confirmed that the CIT(A), Chennai, passed an order in its favor. The order accepted the submissions made by the company and deleted the entire penalty demand, granting full relief.
