CRISIL Limited Receives TDS Proceedings Assessment Order for AY 2020-21
CRISIL Limited announced today, March 30, 2026, that it has received a TDS proceedings order from the Income Tax Authority (TDS department) related to the Assessment Year 2020-21. The order, issued on March 29, 2026, concerns TDS on foreign payments.The company has received a demand of INR 27.24 Crores, inclusive of interest. This demand stems from previous years' orders addressing a similar issue, against which CRISIL has already filed an appeal with the Hon'ble CIT(Appeals).
According to CRISIL, the proceedings are u/s 201(1) and 201(1A) r.w.s. 195. The company intends to file an appeal against the order. CRISIL stated that there is no immediate impact on its financial, operational, or other activities.
