Commercial Court Returns Plaint Against Delphi, Status Quo Order Vacated Over Title Document Deficiency
The Commercial Court at Dwarka in New Delhi has vacated all associated status quo directions after returning a plaint filed against DELPHI WORLD MONEY LIMITED in Civil Suit No. CS 628/2025. The lawsuit was brought by Bull Value Incorporated VCC Sub-Fund and related parties, against Delphi and others. The court proceedings concluded with the observation that the plaintiff failed to produce the necessary FCCB title documents despite being granted two opportunities. This finding comes after the Commercial Court issued an order on June 1, 2026.
The relevant portion of the judicial observation noted that, "despite two directions, plaintiff has not filed the title documents of the Bonds which the plaintiff claims to have been allotted by GLAS (the Trustee) on subscribing to the FCCB issued by defendant no. 2."
This development suggests that proceedings originally intended to challenge the actions and affairs of Delphi lacked evidence substantiating the plaintiff's claimed bondholder status, as recorded by the court.
The Court's decision follows months during which Delphi faced multiple allegations, complaints, and public communications questioning the company’s governance, corporate actions, and business operations. The Company maintained that these proceedings were misconceived and that serious allegations affecting a regulated financial services business required support before competent forums.
Delphi emphasized that the ruling underscores the principle that all claims targeting a company's business or stakeholder confidence must be supported by evidence. Management expressed gratitude for the Indian judiciary’s commitment to due process, fairness, and the rule of law.
