
Coal India Limited Divests Shares in Subsidiary, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited
Coal India Limited announced the successful initial public offering (IPO) of equity shares of its subsidiary, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited, on March 30, 2026. The IPO involved the sale of 107,100,000 equity shares at a price of ₹172.00 per share.Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited is now listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited, effective March 30, 2026.
As a result of the share sale, Coal India Limited’s ownership in Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited has decreased from 100% to 85%, representing a reduction from 714,000,000 equity shares to 606,900,000 equity shares. Consequently, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited is no longer a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited, although it remains a subsidiary.
