State-of-the-Art AC Manufacturing Facility to Strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s HVAC Hub Status
Amaravati, February 17: Carrier Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd has signed a lease agreement to establish a state-of-the-art air-conditioning manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, with a total investment of Rs 1,000 crore. The project is expected to generate 1,000 direct jobs and 2,000 indirect employment opportunities.The upcoming facility will be developed on a 39-acre site and will focus on producing sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions to meet rising domestic and global demand.
Lease Agreement Signed in Presence of Senior Officials
The lease agreement was formally signed and exchanged by Sundaresan Narayanan, Managing Director of Carrier India, and Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director of Sri City.Carrier Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd is part of Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
The agreement was formalised in the presence of Tirupati District Collector Dr S. Venkateswar, underscoring Andhra Pradesh’s investor-focused governance and rapid industrial growth.
Andhra Pradesh Highlights Speed of Doing Business
State Minister Nara Lokesh described the Rs 1,000 crore investment as a strong endorsement of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem and its “Speed of Doing Business” approach.He noted that Carrier completed the process from its first visit to land handover and project finalisation within eight months. According to him, the 39-acre facility will create over 3,000 jobs and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as India’s leading air-conditioning manufacturing hub.
Facility to Integrate Green Manufacturing Practices
The new plant will integrate green manufacturing practices and is designed to cater to increasing demand for sustainable and energy-efficient commercial cooling solutions.Narayanan said the facility will enable Carrier to manufacture at scale, support market growth, and create meaningful opportunities for local talent. He added that the plant will contribute significantly to employment generation while strengthening the company’s long-term growth strategy in India.
Sri City Positioned as Advanced Manufacturing Destination
Ravindra Sannareddy welcomed Carrier’s investment, calling it a strong validation of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial vision and infrastructure readiness. He said the project would accelerate Sri City’s transformation into a globally competitive hub for advanced manufacturing and sustainable innovation.Tirupati District Collector Dr S. Venkateswar congratulated Carrier and the Sri City teams, stating that the state government remains committed to both the ease and speed of doing business as well as the speed of delivery.
Complements Existing Haryana Operations
The project follows high-level engagements with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications Nara Lokesh. During these discussions, Carrier expressed its intent to establish operations in the region, recognising Sri City’s rapid emergence as a major air-conditioning manufacturing hub.The new facility complements Carrier’s existing operations in Haryana and aligns with its long-term vision for sustainable growth in India, further reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a preferred destination for advanced and sustainable industrial projects.
