Capri Global Capital Eyes Massive Fund Raise to Spur Growth, Targets Up to $550 Million Injection

Retail-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) Capri Global Capital is actively pursuing a significant capital infusion, evaluating a 'big-bang' fund raise totaling between $450 million and $550 million. The capital raise, which aims to accelerate the firm’s rapid growth trajectory, will utilize both primary and secondary share issue routes, according to sources familiar with the ongoing deliberations.

The promoters of Capri Global are in a high-growth fundraising mode. They plan to secure funds ranging from Rs 4,284 crore to Rs 5,236 crore. This strategic move is designed to inject new capital and potentially induct a marquee private equity investor or a sovereign wealth fund into the organization.

Strategizing for Growth and Dilution

Sources indicated that the management is open to diluting a portion of the minority stake in exchange for the infusion of a major institutional partner. Capri Global has been experiencing accelerated expansion, particularly noting a quick rise in its gold book portfolio.

The company currently boasts a strong promoter holding, with insiders reporting that the promoters hold approximately 59.92 percent stake as of recent stock exchange data. Based on the firm's market capitalization of Rs 22,331 crore at the close of trade on August 10, this promoter stake was valued at Rs 13,380 crore.

Investment Banks and Near-Term Road Map

Investment giants Citi and Jefferies have been appointed as joint advisors for the proposed high-stakes transaction. Stakeholders are expected to begin receiving feelers from potential suitors in the coming weeks. Deliberations around the size and specific structure of the proposal are still ongoing, and details may be subject to change based on evolving requirements.

A closer look at Capri Global’s operational history reveals consistent expansion. In June 2026, the company reported a substantial net sales figure of Rs 1,576.48 crore, marking a 57.05 percent increase from Rs 1,003.79 crore in June 2025.

Financial Performance and Operational Footprint

The NBFC has demonstrated robust profitability across multiple quarters. Quarterly net profit in June 2026 stood at Rs 353.38 crore, a significant jump of 102.0 percent compared to the Rs 174.90 crore recorded in June 2025. EBITDA also saw sharp growth, hitting Rs 1,085.25 crore in June 2026, up 67.3 percent from Rs 648.67 crore during the previous year.

As of June 30, 2026, Capri Global commanded an Assets Under Management (AUM) exceeding Rs 40,000 crores. The company operates through 1,400+ branches and has built a vast employee base of over 13,700 across India, serving more than 7.6 lakhs customers.

Product Diversification and Future Targets

Capri Global offers a comprehensive suite of secured and collateralized loans spanning four core segments: gold loans, MSME Loans, construction finance, and housing loans, the latter being facilitated through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Capri Global Housing Finance Limited. The firm is particularly focused on penetrating underserved tier-2 to tier-4 markets in India.

Looking ahead, founder and MD Rajesh Sharma previously shared ambitious targets during an interview in May, aiming for Rs 55,000 crore in assets under management by the end of FY28. This growth strategy relies heavily on expanding gold loans and leveraging co-lending arrangements to enhance its lending franchise.
