
Can Fin Homes Limited Set to Transfer Shares and Dividend Warrants to Investor Education Fund
Can Fin Homes Limited has initiated the process of transferring certain shares and unclaimed dividend amounts to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF). The action concerns shareholders who have not claimed their dividends for seven consecutive years.The company announced that unclaimed dividend amounts corresponding to the financial year 2018-19 are scheduled for transfer to the IEPF on August 22, 2026. In line with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 and the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (Accounting, Audit, Transfer and Refund) Rules, 2016, the corresponding shares that were unclaimed for seven consecutive years will also be transferred to IEPF.
The company issued a final reminder to shareholders regarding the transfer process. Shareholders holding physical shares who are liable to be transferred to the IEPF have been informed that the Company would be issuing new share certificates for this purpose. Following such an issuance, the Company is set to inform the depository through a corporate action to convert these new certificates into DEMAT form and transfer them to the IEPF Authorities.
Shareholders holding physical shares were also advised that their original certificates will automatically stand cancelled and are considered non-negotiable. For shareholders in dematerialized form, the company stated it would instruct the depository via a corporate action for the transfer of these shares in favor of the IEPF Authority.
The notice highlights that concerned members who have not yet claimed their "Dividend 2019" amounts were urged to verify their records and submit original Dividend warrants from 2019 onwards for revalidation, should they be required.
